The main title song, California, is a literal autobiography of my breakout at age 21, a defining year for me. Blue Sky Blues chronicles my amazement at the lack of rain in the Golden State, the never-ending blue skies. The Fog can happen anywhere, on the landscape or in the mind; in this case, California. Indian Roses narrates a festival that I and my girlfriend at the time hitchhiked to at Indian Grinding Rocks in Volcano, CA. Rainy Day Lover is a spiritual autobiography, depicting that same life moment in a less tangible way.
